The BlackBerry PlayBook is the latest tablet to hit the market. Its 17inch frame and sleek design is very appealing and the vibrant 1080p display is eye catching. The PlayBook is available in 16, 32 and 64GB and has a starting price of $499 with an additional $100 increments added to the 32 and 64 gigs. The battery life for the PlayBook is very strong, making it ideal for work and for long flights. The PlayBook is a little pricey for a 17inch device and the user interface is not as user friendly like of course say, the iPad 2. Making it not accessible to casual buyers looking for an alternative tablet. All in all the BlackBerry PlayBook is not pulling in great reviews from sites like engadet. Buyers beware.

So you wanna make Webcomics eh?

I love webcomics, not because I have created my own, I love them because there very accessible. Its a very good way to get people interested in you and your work, and it does not cost you anything if you want to get started. First off, what is a webcomic? A webcomic is a comic book that is published on the web. The benefit of this is that you can save money on printing costs since you will be distributing your comic digitally.
What you'll need to get started:

An idea
An artist
A writer
And a basic website

Like everything in life, you'll need to have a good idea. You as the creator of the webcomic would need to come up with the concepts of your comic. All the characters, the story and the conflicts are in your hands. You'd need to ask yourself:

Who is this webcomic for? A young audience or a mature audience?
Is it action or comedy or both?
Would it be team based like X-Men or single hero like Spider-Man?

Once you have those questions answered, you can then move on to the art design.
If you can draw you can be the creator and the artist. If your not comfortable drawing a straight line I would suggest you find yourself a good artist. You might have to pay for one however, their are artists out there willing to do the job just for the exposure. You could always work something out once the webcomic gains popularity. Same can be said when looking to hire a good writer, that is of course if you are going for a creator/writer role.

So now you've got an idea of what the story is going to be and you have your artist and writer hard at work on creating the next best webcomic since Penny Arcade, its time to upload your efforts to the web. But first you'll need a website. You can use free hosting sites if you are not web savvy Drunkduck.com is a good place to start, it host several webcomics already and you can submit and upload your webcomic to the site for free! If you are more hands on you could try free web hosting sites like Webs.com.

Now that you have your first issue set up, you'd want to start thinking about advertisement to let potential readers of your webcomic know that your open for business. You can use social networks like Facebook and Twitter to get the word across, but nothing is more effective like webcomic directories. Onlinecomics.net comes to mind, but there are others Google around. Follow this steps and you'll have your webcomic up and running in no time. Try to update your comic as soon as possible, to keep your readers interested.
